Holiday rep jobs in Ibiza
We've all seen the Ibiza club reps on reality TV and 'Is harry on the boat' but how does the reality of working a holiday rep job in Ibiza compare? If you think you’re going to get away with turning up drunk every day and shagging the customers then you can think again. Like every job in Ibiza, it might seem like one long party but if you don’t take it seriously then you’ll be out on your ear.

Working in Ibiza
Working in Ibiza can be a real adventure, but first make sure all your ducks are lined up in a row. If you’re going to be working as a holiday rep then you’re putting yourself into a much more experienced organization than a random bar so you’re going to get a lot more help in terms of organizing paperwork and permits and getting to and staying on the island. But you can expect a rigorous interview process, probably with some group tests and a one on one interview at the very least. On the up side, companies like Thomson or First Choice have been doing this for years so you’ll get a lot more support than you would going over on your own outside an organization. You’ll also likely have someone to ask questions of or to turn to if anything goes wrong (which hopefully it won’t).
Have you got what it takes?
In order to secure a holiday rep job in Ibiza, you should know beforehand that there is a lot of competition in this field. If you have customer service experience and administration experience in your job history, securing a job as a holiday rep will be that much easier. If you’re an outgoing person with plenty of confidence and the ability to make people feel at ease, that will also help. You really have to be a people person for this job – if an unhappy customer comes to you with a problem, telling them to get lost because you’ve got a hangover or are having an off day is not going to cut it. You’re basically going to be on call whenever the customers can see you.
Responsibilities and salary
As a holiday rep, you will be responsible for answering customer's questions and helping them with any problems that may arise during the holiday, completing paperwork, selling and guiding excursions and at times transferring clients to and from the airport. The starting salary for a holiday rep is usually between E450 and E500 per month including commissions. This isn't the best paying job, but there are some perks included, such as free accommodation, meal vouchers and club passes.
You will also need to become familiar with the area you’re going to work in, if you aren't already. You will need to have information on all the clubs, restaurants and excursions that the client has to choose from, as well as offering helpful tips concerning dress attire and local expectations.
Once you have established yourself as a holiday rep, your base salary will increase with experience.
