San Antonio is well known as the sun and booze fuelled party capital of Ibiza, but do San Antonio holidays have a different side? Well sort of!
You can’t really claim to have been to Ibiza unless you’ve spent some time in the historical and captivating capital - Ibiza Town (Eivissa).
Playa den Bossa was designed with the modern tourist in mind and has become one of the busiest and best loved resorts on the island. It has almost universal appeal, offering up Space and Bora Bora to those out to party, a huge sandy beach and the excellent selection of watersports and local activities for holidaymakers who don’t like to sit still.
San Antonio Bay is located on Ibiza's west coast and is famous for its gorgeous sunset views. The Bay is just south of San Antonio town and some would say it is that party spot’s slightly more mature relative. The Bay is rumoured to be one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean and the sea views are some of the best you will find on the island.
If you’re looking for a magnificent beach on which to spend all your holiday days then Cala Llonga is the Ibiza spot for you. The resort sits perched on the East Coast of Ibiza, approximately 10km north of Ibiza Town and 5km south of Santa Eulalia.
Although there’s a lot to be said for Ibiza as a beautiful holiday spot – golden sands, great weather, pine forested hills and clear blue sea – it’s only really when you go to somewhere like Portinatx that you can see how lovely the island really is.
Figueretes resort is the closest beach to Ibiza Town and an excellent option if you’re looking for a party-filled holiday with a beach base. Situated on the southeast coast of the island, Figueretes is almost a suburb of Ibiza Town and a popular option with families as well as the clubbers who come to be within walking distance of venues like Pacha.
While it may seem like Ibiza is all about the parties, there are areas of the Balearic Island that have more to offer – one example is Santa Eulalia, a favourite resort of families and holidaymakers looking for a slightly quieter experience of Ibiza.
Given that it is not one of the biggest resorts on the island, the best known, the provider of the best clubbing experience or the proud owner of the longest stretches of soft, golden Ibiza sand (or indeed any beach at all), there’s a lot of love out there for San Jose.
Fifteen minutes drive from San Antonio is the sheltered bay that houses the tiny resort of Cala Tarida. The resort is well known for its incredibly long beach and for the beautiful colours of the waters around it, that range in shades of blue from azure to turquoise and change in the rays of the setting sun.
For those looking for an idyllic, beach-based getaway, Talamanca is the perfect place. Located on the south side of Ibiza, only 15 minutes walk from Ibiza Town, Cala Talamanca may not be the most scenic beach on the island, but it is long and wide and has a rustic charm all of it’s own.
