Circo Loco's future has always been a little uncertain what with the closure of its home at DC-10 in 2009. However DC-10 and Circo Loco and fully back up and running after an incredibly successful 2011, 2012 looks set to be another loco summer!
Ibiza's Craziest Party
Circo Loco means 'Crazy Circus', which for anyone who's found themselves in Ibiza's black sheep of a superclub DC-10 on a Monday Morning in Ibiza, will probably sound like a fair asssessment of this party which has come to represent the underground house and techno scene in Ibiza.
History of Circo Loco
Circo Loco was originally an all day after hours party started by Antonio and Andrea Pelino in 1999. The crowd it attracts is what you might expect from underground techno afterparty in a converted airport hanger in Ibiza, its unlikely to be glamourous, or even pretty, but if this is your scene its one of Ibiza's most authentic and exciting parties.
Sending the Spanish police Loco!
The history and future of Circo Loco is always shrouded in controversy. In the past the Spanish police have come down hard on DC-10 and its famous all day parties as an easy target for punishing the sins of Ibiza. In 2008 its future was cast into more doubt by the new ban on after hours venues.
In 2009 the situations looking worse with DC-10 shut for the summer. However, 2010 was a more successful year for DC-10, mainly thanks for Circo Loco who brought the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler and Timo Maas into the aircraft hanger.
