Possibly the most famous club in the world, Space in Ibiza began life as a converted concert hall with original line-ups that included live bands and flamenco shows, as well as the dance music it has become known for. Space’s legendary open-air terrace was the scene for many wild all day, all night party, back in the glory days of We Love Space Sundays and before the law changes which outlawed the night day format.
Regardless of the legal crackdown, Space is still something of an institution among Ibiza veterans. The club has a varied mix of parties these days, although the main vibe is still decidedly techno. The club is a true ambassador for the Ibiza dance scene, particularly due to its location - as new Ibiza arrivals flood in over the islands flight path, a sea of hands waving from the Space terrace greets them.

Space: An award winning Ibiza club
Space is a highly decorated institution with enough awards and trophies to break a mantelpiece -in 2001 Space Ibiza was elected 'Best Global Club' at the Dance Music Awards in London. In 2002, at this same event, We Love Space Sundays was voted the 'Best Club Night'. In 2005 the club officially became the World’s Best Club at the House Music Awards and again at the Miami Winter Music Conference.
In 2007 DJmag, voted Space 'The Globe's Finest Club and in 2009 Space became Deejay magazine reader’s 'Best Spanish Club of 2008.'
Inside Space in Ibiza
Space has 2 rooms on the ground floor, the main room for the harder action and the sunset terrace where you can chill out to some funky beats and watch the casualties pile up. A stage is set up outside for the spectacular opening and closing parties, but other than that Space keeps it simple. Upstairs, there are the new additions of the Caja Roja and the Premier Etage bringing to the table leftfield beats and soulful classic.
Although the sound and light stage is among the best on the island, on the whole, Space forgoes some of the frills of clubs like Pacha or Es Paradis. It’s all about the music at Space and it’s for the beats and the opportunity to dance to them that people flock to legendary institution, rather than for the club itself.
Space on Space
A concept, a dream come true‚ that the people in Ibiza could visit the dance floor during the day. And so it came to pass that we were able to share and spread this joy of partying in the sunlight. We invented a new timetable. For me, being able to dance during the daytime has a special magic about it and it was a great success. We were the pioneers and people loved it.

Space History
Space is began life as a converted concert venue in Playa D’ En Bossa. It opened at the end of the 80's but really shot to fame in '94 when it started to play host to more international DJ's, in particular Alex P and Brandon Block who were the first DJs to shape the venue into the type of nightclub it currently is. Since then the club has seen a huge number of top DJs on the wheels of steel, including Deadmau5, John Digweed, Sasha, Erick Morillo, Sven Väth, Paul Oakenfold, James Zabiela and Carl Cox, who had a regular Tuesday night through the whole of the 2010 season. 1999 saw the introduction of the 22-hour marathon Sunday sessions, which may not have not been popular with the locals but have secured Space its place in Ibiza clubbing history.
