Tiesto is the most influential DJ on the Ibiza club scene

We've closed voting on the first Love Ibiza 2009 poll where we asked the question 'who is the most influential DJ on the Ibiza club scene?'.

dj tiestoYou can see the results of the poll here. Nearly 500 of you voted and over 30% said they though DJ Tiesto was the most influential DJ of the moment. Armin Van Buuren came in second with 15% of the vote.

Personally I was a bit surprised by the results. My vote was with Pete Tong as I think his Radio 1 show probably opens him up to a bigger audience than any other DJ with an Ibiza residency. Pete only pulled in about 8% of your votes though, maybe people read the question more as 'who is the most famous/ best DJ'.

14% of you answered that none of the D list we put together were the most influential so I'd be interested to hear who your vote would of been with- let me know in the comments.

for me it has to be eddie halliwell went to cream last year and he rips it up on the decks. I love his style been to a few of his gigs in the uk aswell. he may not be the best ibiza has seen but he is my favourite i have seen in ibiza so far. smilies/smiley.gif

@Owen - Nothing official on this yet but looking at his touring schedule for the next few months it seems to be lining up for some sort of summer residency. I don't see any reason this wouldn't be at privilege again.

I would agree with the OP Pete Tong or Carl Cox for me. Not sure how Tiesto was voted as the most influential DJ on the Island. i would not pay 1 euro never mind 50 to see that muppet play these days especially when Cocoon is on across the road! just my opinion though!

Total commercialsm thats all. A lot of ppl who dont really have a clue about the dance scene will heard of tiesto. They probably wouldnt even have heard of sven vath or carl cox. From my experience last year i would have to say ferry corsten or sasha.

first time going to ibiza this year. arrive on the 15th june which is when tiesto is at privilege. worth my while going on my 1st night in ibiza or dya recommend trying out somewhere else first?

I am going to Ibiza this summer, so I am hoping I will get to one of the Tiesto events. Btw I think Paul Oakenfold played more important role in creating Ibiza music than Tiesto.
