Ibiza club tickets: where and when to buy
Posted by: john in Untagged on May 11, 2010
Had a few questions this week about the ibiza club tickets for sale on the Ibiza club calendar so thought it was a good time to clarify our relationships and recommendations for Ibiza club ticket sales, where, when and how to buy em.
In previous years, by and large, we've only listed club tickets from advertisers who we earn commission off. This year on the Ibiza party calendar you'll see we're listing ticket details from lots more places including, where available the official club websites. There's a few reasons for this, most importantly:
- More Ibiza clubs are selling tickets directly on their websites this year
- The amount you can earn reselling Ibiza club tickets is tiny! I reckon this site has earned about £100 in the last 3 years from ticket sales so it's really not worth it for us trying to scrape a living this way, we'd rather recommend to you the best places to get your club tickets, not just the ones who pay us the most.
What we've tried to do this year is link you to the cheapest ticket source. Usually that's direct from the club, because there's no commisson to pay but not all clubs sell tickets direct so in that case we look for the cheapest tickets available online after commissions, booking fees, credit card handling fees, postage etc. If you find Ibiza club tickets listed for cheaper than the ones you see us linking to please let us know either in the forum or on editor@loveibiza.net.
When to buy Ibiza club tickets- in advance online, or on the door?
We've offerred some contradictory advice on this over the last few years because there's no right or wrong answer, none-the -less it's a questions which keeps coming up so here's a summary...
Advantages of buying in advance
- Guarenteed ticket, no worries about nights selling out (which they sometimes do on big nights like closing parties, radio 1 weekend etc)
- Some clubs offer cheaper advance tickets than on the door. For example es paradis list an advance price and door price, you can save up to €10 buying in advance
- Helps you budget for your holiday by reducing the amount of cash you need to carry (may also save you a few quid on foreign exchange)
Disadvantages
- Hard/impossible to get refunds if you change your plans or have to cancel your holiday for any reason
- Limits your flexibility while on holiday by giving you a timetable to stick to
- If the website or ticketing company goes bust you might lose your money
There's also some good reasons to buy at ticket outlets in Ibiza rather than online:
- Pr's (people handing out flyers on the streets) tend to rely on commission from Ibiza club ticket sales to earn a living
- Ticket outlets in San Antonio and Ibiza town do a good job helping to publicize events and are often good sources of free information for clubbers so should be supported
- If a nights under performing in ticket sales (as is often the case when two big nights go head to head) you might be able to cut a deal for cheaper or in some cases FREE tickets - you should definitely only buy in advance if you know a night will be popular.
To summarise our advice on buying Ibiza club tickets in advance:
- Buy in advance only if you know the party will be very busy or even sell out (see list of hot events below for a guide)
- Don't buy online if there's a chance your plans will change
- When you buy in Ibiza support Ibiza season workers by either buying from your club reps (only if they give you a good deal) or by taking a flyer off a PR and handing it in when you buy your ticket.
- If you're flying out specially for one party it probably makes sense to get your ticket in advance
Parties you might need to buy in advance for:
I'd consider buying club tickets in advance for these parties (other suggestions in the comments please):
- Opening parties for: Space, cream, amnesia, Ibiza rocks
- Or any opening party that falls late June/ early July
- Any closing party in the first 2 weeks of September + cream & space closing
- Any popular night that falls over radio 1 weekend (not just radio 1 events)
- Tiesto nights at privilege
- This year- anything with deadmau5 or dizzee rascal on the lineup!
Where to buy ibiza club tickets online
You can search for parties on our club calendar and follow the buy tickets links, we've tried to bring you the lowest prices available online through these. Otherwise here's our recommendations:
Ibiza clubs with direct ticket sales online
Buy direct from clubs where available, currently Es Paradis, Space have their own online clubtickets.
Ibiza rocks tickets (seetickets)
Tickets to Ibiza rocks are available through seetickets (love Ibiza earns a small commission on sales through this site)
Ibiza spotlight
Can highly recommend these guys, they had the original club calendar, they're based on the island and they won't be going out of business (disclosure- we advertise their hotels, villas and car hire but don't earn commission on club tickets sold through their site)
Ticketline
Good for Cream @ amnesia tickets and a few other Ibiza parties (love Ibiza earns a small commission on sales through this site)
Clubtickets (clubtickets.com)
We used to advertise these guys then they never paid us so not a favourite:-( Have used them once and my personal experience of ordering through clubtickets.com was ok. We literally sent clubtickets thousands of visitors over the past few years and never received a penny in commission payments so personally I don't trust them anymore. Still the preferred ticket agent for judgement Sunday tickets @ Eden.
Wonderland @ Eden tickets
You can get wonderland tickets direct from Tongy this year
Pacha ibiza tickets (pacha.com)
Are sometimes available through their site pacha.com but it's an annoying flash site and always takes ages to load for me! Most Pacha tickets are also available on Ibiza Spotlight so I'd probably buy there instead.
Please feel free to share your own experiences and advice on buying Ibiza club tickets in the comments.
