San Antonio Bay, located on Ibiza's west coast, is famous for its gorgeous sunsets. It is easy to get there from the Ibiza airport by bus or taxi, or by ferry from the mainland ports of Barcelona and Denia.
With its friendly, casual atmosphere, San Antonio Bay is an ideal destination for families and those looking for relaxation. Five wide, sandy beaches offer ample opportunities for strolling, swimming, and watersports.
The "Sunset strip" features outstanding beach bars along the waterfront, including the famous Kumharas, perfect for hanging out with friends while watching the spectacular sunset. After dark, enjoy music, entertainment and dancing every night.
For the clubbing crowd, the San Antonio resort, known for its sizzling nightclub scene, is just to the north. The party season starts up in late May and goes non-stop all summer long. There's even a free Disco bus during the clubbing season that runs from San Antonio Bay to San Antonio's biggest clubs, Es Paradis and Eden. A highlight is the weekly Fiesta del Agua, where the dance floor at Es Paradis is turned into a gigantic swimming pool.
Plenty of clubbers base themselves in San Antonio Bay for their clubbing holidays in Ibiza. Its a stones throw from the action of San Antonio with generally a higher standard of accomodation and better beach.
San Antonio Bay has a wide assortment of excellent accommodation ranging from hotels to self-catering apartments. Nearly all have air conditioning and swimming pools, and most are right on the beach. Some hotels, such as the Reco des Sol Aparthotel, offer scuba diving packages.
The Fiesta of St. Bartholomew is celebrated in San Antonio Bay every 24th August, with music, festivities and a magnificent fireworks display.
