Package holidays are the most popular and traditional way of booking your Ibiza holidays. A package holiday is a single price which you pay to a travel agent who arrange your flights, hotel and sometimes other elements of your holiday. Of course you can book the different parts of your holiday seperately but package holidays to Ibiza offer competitive pricing and convenience which many visitors favour.
What’s included in an Ibiza holiday package?
Package holidays to Ibiza will typically consist of the following:
- Flights from UK airports
- Airport transfers to accommodation (and back)
- Hotel or self-catering apartment accommodation
- Some meals depending on your board type
- A holiday rep who will visit you at the hotel, book you on excursions and deal with any queries
- ATOL protection in case the flight operator or travel agent goes bust either before you fly or while you’re out there
Booking a package holiday to Ibiza is one of the most cost effective ways to travel as travel agents negotiate favourable terms on your behalf and saving on things like transfers and some meals can reduce the overall cost of your holiday.
Where to stay?
You can book package holidays in most areas of Ibiza although the most popular parts are San Antonio and the nearby San Antonio Bay area and Ibiza town. For more family orientated Ibiza package holidays the Northern Ibiza resort of San Miguel is a favourite. If you're aged between the ages of 18 and 30 and are after some fun in the sun, then there's always club 18-30 you can enjoy too!
The main benefit of package holidays in Ibiza is the convenience they offer. Although booking the component parts of your holiday separately is easier than it used to be before the internet travel agents still offer the quickest and most convenient way to pack up and get away. The other great thing about package deals is they can be booked right up to the last minute and guarantee all elements of the holiday fall into place at a fixed price.
When booking an Ibiza package holiday we always recommend the travel agent is ATOL protected and a member of ABTA. This will offer you financial protection should anything go wrong with your booking. Also remember most package deals don’t include travel insurance (or they’ll bolt it on as an extra) so make sure you sort out your insurance before you go (this should be under £10 for most people).
Things to look out for when booking Ibiza package holidays
Star ratings – some travel agents will use their own star ratings rather than the Spanish standard star system. Check the official hotel site if you’re not sure
Full board and all inclusive – Some people mix these up. Full board usually means all your meals are included. All inclusive includes drinks at the bar as well
Clientele – Sometimes hotel descriptions can be less than helpful, try checking the reviews on trip advisor to see what kind of people i.e. families, groups, couples are staying at the hotel. Apart from this use I’d avoid trip advisor reviews at all costs when making decisions, if you let these reviews influence you you’d never stay anywhere!
Transfers included? – Double check. When you book through lastminute.com for example transfers aren’t always included in the price and you may need to pay an additional fee for the coach. If there’s a few of you it often works out cheaper to taxi from the airport in this case
