Es Cana

Es Cana is one of Ibiza’s smaller resorts that sits on the island’s east coast, just north of Santa Eulalia. Although it isn't as busy as of some of the larger places on the island, it’s a lively option for families and for clubbers who want to be close to all the action but not necessarily right in it.

Es Cana Beach

The beach is the main focal point of the resort and is as lovely and golden as you will find anywhere on the island. It is supervised by lifeguards, making it a great option for families with swimming-obsessed kids, and there are watersports galore to keep even the most demanding kid (big or little!) happy. Among the things to do are waterskiing, parasailing and banana boating and there’s also a wind surfing school and dive school for anyone who needs to brush up on technique, or learn it for the first time. There are also daytrips from the resort’s small harbour, where you can take a boat to Ibiza Town or Santa Eulalia or you can take a train from the town and take a picturesque ride through the surrounding countryside.

Shopping in Es Cana

There’s plenty of shopping options in Es Cana, despite the fact that it is smaller than the likes of Ibiza Town. You can buy perfumes and accessories, souvenirs and there’s even a genuine Lacoste shop if you want some branded sportswear. Every Wednesday, there is the famous Ibiza 'hippie market' on the outskirts of Es Cana that has a history that stretches right back to the island’s artistic roots. The market takes place under the shade of the pine trees where you can buy loads of different clothes and accessories, many of which are hand made, as well as delicious food.

Es Cana has plenty of different accommodation options for every kind of holidaymaker with every type of requirement. Restaurants in Es Cana

When it comes to eating, you’re not going to find the same culinary delights in Es Cana that you might come across in the more cosmopolitan spots on the island like Ibiza Town. But that certainly doesn’t mean you’re going to go hungry! Many of the restaurants over look the beach and offer everything from snacks and sandwiches, to full on meals, including Chinese and Italian options. There’s also the Jacaranda restaurant that has its own pool and spectacular sea views. Jacaranda is also a popular nighttime spot in Es Cana and joins the small legion of bars that give the resort a lively nightlife. Alongside Jacaranda, there’s a selection of local bars, Irish and British pubs, as well as the Es Cana disco. If that’s not enough for you then the resort is will connected to all the major Ibizan clubbing hotspots, within easy reach of the nightlife of Ibiza Town and, closer by, Santa Eulalia just down the coast.

Es Cana Verdict

Es Cana is a relatively quiet option and a relaxing destination for holidaymakers of all sorts, who come to the island to get away from it all and wind down. The quaint harbor complete with fishing boats allows families to experience the unique Ibiza culture and for clubbers there’s the beautiful beach by day and the delights of some of the best dance parties in Europe just a bus ride away by night.
