UPDATE: This is old news, get the latest on the Radio 1 Weekend in Ibiza here
I've had 5 emails about this since monday. As far as I know the official date for the Radio 1 weekend in Ibiza 2009 still hasn't been announced. However...
- Digital Ibiza have the date as 1st & 2nd August 2009
- Last week Gary @ Ibiza Blog reposted a rumour started on the Ibiza Spotlight forum that the date would be the 1st and 2nd.
I'd go along with this as it will mean its pretty much the same weekend as last year. As the weekend starts on the Friday it will actually mean things kick off on 31st July which will be the first time its started in July. Oh the scandal!
I checked out the Ibiza Rocks Hotel over these dates and it looks like they're holding back the cheap rooms over these dates with only the most expensive rooms available (I also rang them but they didn't know/ wouldn't tell me!)
So my conclusion...wait a week or so and Pete Tong or Jules will give the official date. But if you absolutely must gamble on it go for the 31st July- 2nd August.

If you check the Ibiza Rocks Hotel site you will see that these dates are already allocated to the XBox weekender (8th-10th). The 7th is a Tuesday night gig so definitely not on this date either.
Also if you look again you will see that from the 29th until the 5th there is supposidly nothing happening at the hotel which leads me to believe this is being held back for the R1 event?

The ibiza rocks hotel is only showing the dates of last years events at the moment so fingers crossed for radio 1 7-9th

Has to be on the weekend of the 1st aug . judge jules released the date in a email to someone on the the following website ! love the speculation but it best be that weekend or im going to have egg on my face !

Since those humble beginnings, Judgement Sundays has grown to become one of the biggest nights in Ibiza, and San Antonio’s busiest. You only have to situate yourself in the middle of the dancefloor and hear the crowd roar as tune after tune drops to know you’re witnessing something special. Judgement Sundays has always spotted the freshest deck talent first too – Armin Van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, Tiesto and Ferry Corsten all spun their virgin Ibiza sets in the club and continued to spin regularly over the years.
This year, Judgement Sundays’ tenth anniversary promises to be a sixteen week party like no other, with our world-class residents Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Richard Durand and Micky Slim at the helm plus the return of the gorgeous Kissdafunk crew and the Good For Nothing guys with their indie disco mash up in room two, plus our typical party mayhem with a range of guests in the White room.
Four times over the season we’ll be handing the back room reins over to two of our favourite DJs for them to create a party within a party. An Evening With… will see both Krafty Kuts and Micky Slim and his Bombsquad Records inviting guests they know will tear it up until the police come and turn it off!
We’ll also be holding a special anniversary White Party on the Sunday of the Radio 1 Weekend in August (details below) and our closing party too, so be sure to come prepared!

Is this defo from the 31st? I am so buzzing if thats the case, never gambled before in my life so this will be better than wining on the National if it comes off. Is the venue still Ibiza Rocks?? They state a claim to Radio 1 making it there new home on their website, and its not from last year!

Defo the weekend of the 31st July. My DJ buddy Rosie Romero is playing at Boho in San An on the 31st, which is coninciding with the R1 weekend. It states this on the Miss Moneypenny website and listings so can't see this being wrong.
