We've closed voting on the first Love Ibiza 2009 poll where we asked the question 'who is the most influential DJ on the Ibiza club scene?'.

You can see the results of the poll here. Nearly 500 of you voted and over 30% said they though DJ Tiesto was the most influential DJ of the moment. Armin Van Buuren came in second with 15% of the vote.

Just a quick one to say we've had a quick update of the Ibiza 2009 calendar as quite a few more opening party dates have now been confirmed. This should now be up to date. If anyone knows of any more parties which are confirmed or if you're a promoter and your party is not listed or listed incorrectly please give us a shout.

Quick tip: You can sort the Ibiza calendar to show just the confirmed opening party dates by typing 'confirmed' in the filter box!

A few people have been asking about whats happening with DC-10 in 2009 and I keep saying we don't have any information you haven't seen published elsewhere. We don't have any contacts with the DC-10 promoters so getting decent info on whats actually going on with this club is harder than the others.

Anyway I thought it might be useful to give a quick summary of the DC-10 closing saga for anyone who's following this story so you don't have to dig around various sites. I'm actually a bit surprised how much interest there still is in this place, its a cool club and has thrown some pretty mad parties in the past but with daytime opening hours ban in Ibiza now I'm not sure what the future can hold for DC-10 and CircoLoco.

We were all a little distressed over the weekend reading gary's post on Ibiza blog about the state of Manumission in 2009. According to a thread on Ibiza spotlight there's going to be no Manumission in Ibiza this summer.

Anyone's who's ever done a Manumission night in Ibiza will probably have been affected by that night in some way, its a pretty unforgetable experience so for many people this news is really going to suck if it is right.

With the value of the pound tumbling against the euro its bad news for anyone traveling to Europe next year. As the pound/ euro falls to a point of parity what will this mean for anyone going to Ibiza next summer?

Well it will mean the very real possibility of a £60 club ticket or a £10 bottle of water!

Last year we setup a page on Facebook and invited our members and friends to become 'fans'.

At last count i.e.. today we had 1837 fans which is pretty cool. We've never really done much with this page but we're looking at ways we can use Facebook to keep our friends and fans updated with Ibiza news and stuff going on on the site.
