Ibiza Manumission in 2009?

We were all a little distressed over the weekend reading gary's post on Ibiza blog about the state of Manumission in 2009. According to a thread on Ibiza spotlight there's going to be no Manumission in Ibiza this summer.

Anyone's who's ever done a Manumission night in Ibiza will probably have been affected by that night in some way, its a pretty unforgetable experience so for many people this news is really going to suck if it is right.

 Our hunch (and this is entirely speculation) would be there most probably won't be a full summer run of manumission parties with the world tour sounding like its running into the summer months but we'd expect there to be some sort of one off's or special parties in Ibiza at some point during the season- who knows maybe even back at Privilege?!?!

Looking at this from the promoters point of view its probably not a bad idea for the Manumission brand to take a break from Ibiza. The world tour things going to land them plenty of cash I'm sure but taking a year or two out of Ibiza will leave them with the option of returning in a couple of years amoung the sort of hype the Manumission guys like creating.

Its like celebrity big brother, it took a year out, got its act together and now its back we love it more than ever:-)

While it saddens me that there might be no manumission here this year, I think it's a great move for manumission to go on the world tour. Maybe they can learn something to bring out here... or maybe they're just saving us the best for last!

Aw geez. Does anybody have the advanced calendar for manumission 09? I've tried going to their site but their calendars are just up until August of last year. I'd have to catch Manumission elsewhere!

I don't get what's the big deal with Manumission is. Sorry, but I think there are better events here other than Manumission. To be honest, I don't necessarily agree with Manumission's image of sex, dance and parties.

I'd say good riddance smilies/smiley.gif

Ibiza has better events... go out and try some of them! ALL OF THEM!

I can't get over my manumission days smilies/smiley.gif It's about the one time of the year that I crawl home... smilies/smiley.gif Wild parties, great music... overflowing energies... woohoo!!! but then again, am always like a porcupine charged with an eel's energy when am on a dancefloor... it's just that manumission gives me people who can match me.. dunno why!

manumission cannot fail us this year!! it sets us free for the night allowing us to be who we want for one night only without any judgement or ridicule!! it simply cannot miss out ibiza this year!! im sure it will be back on the whitle island of dreams bigger and better than ever before!

Manumission @ Privilege was one of the best things i ever experienced....would love it to go back there one day!!!..Amnesia was ok but didnt have the same impact!!!.....the world tour seems like a brill idea, people who dont go to ibiza need to witness the magic that happens on the night..but Manumission u will be missed in ibiza if you pull a sicky! DG

The reason why manumission is no longer in these Ibiza clubs is because the owners have got just too greedy i imagine they cant make a profit with all the money the clubs want to put events on i expect when they first started they got most or all of the door take rightfully so , now the clubs like privilege amnesia etc just put big name DJs on them self's its just not the same as it used to be , for me Ibiza has kinda lost it the spirit is just not the same anymore this plus the price to get in clubs and cost of drinks i paid 16 euros for a vodka coke maybe we need another good party island were English club promotors and others can get together and put on the kind of nights we love !

I would expect that there will be at least 1 Manumission this summer. At a guess i'd say on or around 6th August. 15th Birthday Party

The legendary night of debauchery will not be featuring on the White Isle this summer.

Manumission won't be running in Ibiza this year. A split between Manumission and Amnesia - the club in which Manumission is held - means, due to contractual obligations, the club night isn't able to operate on the island at all. An unfortunate development for the club night, which moved from Privilege (Amnesia's biggest competitor) only two years ago. Regulars will have to get their crazy on elsewhere.

the truth is manumission was, but no longer is the worlds best party.they used to put 10000 in privilege. and in 08 only around 3000 into amnesia where cocoon are doing 5000-6000 at greater ticket prices and far less entertainment. it apears the power is with the biggest dj,s. sven vath, tiesto ,pvd ,guetta etc. this wasnt what mish was about it was about the theatre and visual as much as the music, and this ground has been stolen by supermartxe and matinee. so can it make a come back in 2010 where and how could it do it? music is the answer and watch this space............
