Talamanca Beach

If you’re looking for all the action of Ibiza Town but want to spend your Ibiza holiday at a beachside location then Talamanca is a great option. The sandy beach is only a 15 minute walk from Ibiza Town and the Port area which basically makes it Ibiza Town’s beach, as well as it’s car park – for anyone who has ever spent several hours driving around Ibiza Town in the hot sun trying to find a space, Talamanca is a much better option!

Whilst Talamanca is not Ibiza’s most picturesque beach, it still offers everything you could want with 900 metres of curved, golden sands and shallow bathing without too many rocks under foot. Perhaps because of its proximity to Ibiza Town and the Port, the sea around Talamanca is not as clear as other parts of the island, but it’s still a good swimming spot and perfect for a trip out with a pedalo.

The beach does get crowded, but not as crowded as some of the island’s more popular options, and the sun loungers here always seem more spread out than other beaches so you’re not crammed in like sardines with your fellow holiday makers. Other than the sun lounger parasols there’s not much in the way of shade on the beach so make sure you take a hat and some sun cream.

The beach is lined with a wooden promenade, which makes it a great spot for a late evening walk, stopping at a bar along the way for a beer in the rays of the setting sun. The beach also has fantastic views of Ibiza Old Town, especially at night when the whole of Ibiza Town is a mass of twinkling lights. The promenade is lined with restaurants and Talamanca as a whole is a good place for eating as there’s a range of restaurants, from the up market La Barraca, to El Barco beach bar.

Whilst much of the island is seasonal and shuts down during the winter, Talamanca is one of the only resorts that stays open. It’s a favourite among locals and tourists alike for winter walks along the beach followed by a hot coffee at one of the nearby bars and restaurants that stay open all year round.
