San Miguel Beach

Puerto San Miguel is only accessible from the northern village of San Miguel, which is quiet little village, described as the gateway to the unspoilt coast of the north.” The beach is a natural sheltered harbour, which makes it a great spot for swimming as it’s protected from the elements by the cliffs on either side. The beach is 100 metres of soft, golden Ibiza sand and caters for every kind of holidaymaker.

There’s a good selection of sun loungers and parasols if you’re looking for a day of relaxation, pedalos, windsurfing and banana boats if you fancy some watersport fun and a dive school and sailing school if you’d like to pick up some practical skills.

The beach is a good base for some of the island’s coastal walks and you can take a short footpath to the left of the beach to Cala d'es Multons, or a slightly longer route along the coast to the beach of Pas de S'Illa, which the locals refer to as the approach to 'Tracy Island' (think Thunderbirds...) The beach is also very close to Caves Can Marca which is a known spot for smugglers of old who used the caves for hiding their goods, hoisting them from the sea from an opening located at a height of 8/10 metres.

Although Puerto San Miguel doesn’t have a huge selection of eating and drinking options, it does have one of the best fish restaurants in Ibiza (Restaurant Port Balansat) so if you’re planning on taking a trip for the day it’s worth paying a visit. Other eating options include El Kiosco which is right on the beach and has some fabulous sunset views. There isn’t an extensive party scene on the beach here but if you’re looking for somewhere to have a drink out of the shade of the sun, you won’t have to look too far.

Puerto San Miguel is easily reached by car or bus and has better parking facilities than most of the other beaches of the island. The beach resort doesn’t have many shops so if you are not staying at one of the hotels in Puerto San Miguel it’s best to bring supplies with you.
