Playa d'en Bossa Beach

If you’re looking for a long, long stretch of beach on which to base yourself for a day by the sea then Playa D’en Bossa is the one. With 2km of golden sands, Playa D’en Bossa is Ibiza’s biggest beach and probably the most varied in terms of beachside activities. The beach is home to the daytime party pad Space, as well as a number of other beach bars with a similar chilled out, daytime drinking vibe. However, if you go further along towards the end of the beach (away from Ibiza Town) you can also find some very low-key spots where peace and quiet is possible.

As well as being the island’s longest beach, Playa D’en Bossa also has a reputation as being the cleanest beach on Ibiza, which is quite an achievement given the amount of sand there is to cover. In terms of activities, there’s a waterpark nearby to entertain kids of all ages and the beach offers a huge range of watersports, including catamaran rental, kite surfing, volleyball and pedalos. For the more focused watersports enthusiast, there’s also a dive school and a wind surfing school where you can pick up some serious wet skills. 

The sea around the beach is clear and safe for swimming so it’s a popular choice for every type of holidaymaker. When the wind is blowing from the right direction, the water can get pretty choppy, making it a good spot for windsurfing or just messing around in the waves.

Playa D’en Bossa is easily reached by bus or car and there’s plenty of parking facilities on the beach. You can also walk from other beaches along the coast like Figueretas which is about a 20 minute stroll away. The beach has some pretty good views of Ibiza Old Town and is renowned for the close ups you will get of the low flying aircraft as they come in to land at the island’s airport.

The beach caters for a range of tastes when it comes to eating and drinking. There’s a wide choice of restaurants providing tasty Mediterranean cuisine and fantastic fresh fish, as well as traditional British pub grub if you’re desperate for some hangover eats.
