Figueretas Beach
Figueretas is basically a residential beach suburb of Ibiza Town and a great option for anyone looking for a beach holiday that isn’t too remote from everything the island’s capital has to offer. The beach is an easy 15 minute walk from Ibiza Town at one end and a 20 minute stroll to Playa D’en Bossa at the other end so you are never likely to be short of entertainment. The beach is also the jumping off point for a number of day trips and there are boat services that go from in front of the Los Molinos hotel which will take you across to the nearby island of Formentera for the day or north on the Wednesday cruise up to Es Cana where the weekly 'hippy market' is held.
Figueretas is not one of the island’s remote beaches and sits in front of an area built up with apartments and hotels. As a result, there’s a lot of accommodation that offers sea views on the beach, but if you’re looking for somewhere you can get away from civilization this may not be the spot for you. At 100 metres long, Figueretas is not the biggest beach on Ibiza, but always seems to have plenty of room for everyone who chooses the beach as a sunbathing spot and the golden sands are well supplied with sun loungers and parasols. Figueretas’ palm lined promenade is the beach’s focal point, particularly in the evenings when it is populated by all the handicrafts market stalls where you can pick up a sarong, some jewellery or a couple of glo sticks.
The beach and surrounding area has a good range of restaurants, many of which have those spectacular sea views, as well as romantic twilight views of Ibiza Old Town twinkling away in the distance. You can choose from a spicy curry, English pub grub or a number of restaurants serving up excellent Mediterranean fish dishes. A well as the restaurants on the seafront, there’s a broad range of popular choices set slightly back from the beach, as well as a fine selection of bars and pubs.
